“1 in 8: The Hope Zone” is a new reader’s theatre play, written and directed by STAGE-M regular and Executive Board secretary, Emily Aslakson. This piece is very personal to Aslakson. She wrote it while undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments after struggling through years of infertility. It tells not only her story, but the stories of so many incredible women that she met throughout her journey.

“This experience is so lonely, and so isolating, I think it’s important for everyone to understand what it’s like to go through it. That’s the only way we will normalize talking about infertility,” says Aslakson.
